Aims
We are a Not For Profit Organization.
We meet monthly, during the blooming season to educate and inspire you to enjoy everything about this amazing Camellia genus.
Our Constitution constitution_final.pdf
Monthly Meetings
From March to October, Annual Show in July and a Reticulata Show in August.
See Bloom Competitions and have your chance to judge the popular bloom winner. Hear about the latest culture information and have your garden problems solved by a qualified horticulturalist.
Judging School
Camellias Illawarra conducts a course in camellia judging for its members and there are no fees. This is an informal, friendly and fun activity and everyone is welcome. Judging school is conducted as required, normally on a fortnightly basis. For exact dates check the camellia events calendar. The course has two purposes:
1. For committed members intending to become accredited camellia judges, this can take some years depending on the existing knowledge of the individual.
2. For camellia enthusiasts wishing to extend their knowledge of camellias and to learn the finer points that judges look for in show exhibits. This is an excellent way to build up knowledge of the many species and forms, as well as help exhibitors to be more successful at shows.
